When they came up with the name mother-in-law mine was the poster child of that phrase. Mine is about to drive me nuts, she is always ragging on my wife (her daughter) She keeps mailing nasty notes to my wife. She just got another letter saturday saying that my wife is going to hell because we wont go to her church and that we need to force my wife's niece and her family to go to church and to accept jesus in their hearts.
i have received numerous letters from he saying I am going to hell and that I dont love my wife, and that I am just using her. She has even sent my parents telling them that they did a bad job in raising me and that they should not help me out and to walk away from me. I have told her that on no circumstance to send my parents anymore letters and to butt out of my relationship with my folks.

Oh it gets better, My mother in law called me the other day now telling me I am holding my wife back from climbing the ladder in the coorporate world. I asked her what she meant by that and she said that my wife is working the wrong job. I told he that my wife loves what she does and feels alot of satisfaction. and she has alot of goals which she is working on. My wife works at a day care. I swear this lady is about to send me to the loony bin.

That is unfortunate, I hope things get better for you and your family soon.

She just got another letter saturday saying that my wife is going to hell because we wont go to her church and that we need to force my wife's niece and her family to go to church and to accept jesus in their hearts. You could fight back, just tell her you joined a Satanic church, and you go on Mondays, sacrifice chickens and listen to heavy metal. On a serious note; This sounds like It's bordering on harassment. I don't how long It's been going on, how frequent it is etc. but If it's a weekly occurrence I'd seriously consider talking to the police about restraining orders.

I think she is bi-polar or something. I usually try to ignore her but when she upsets my wife I feel I cant ignore that. I have gotten some legal advice on what to do about her but that wasnt very helpful.

You should be able to report her as harassing you or something like that I would imagine.

Or if she's clinically bi-polar, maybe get her to a therapist or doctor of some kind. Either way, this is not behavior you have to tolerate on any level.

My wife has tried numerous times to go to a therapist and hasnt gotten anywhere with that. Even getting her to go to regular doctor is like pulling teeth.
