I personally think that companies should be required to disclose whether their products contain GMO's. Here in Canada they are not required to however I personally think it should be in the hands of a consumer whether they want to eat a GMO product or not. It should be required by law to label products as having GMO's in them.
Any opinions welcome!

In some countries such as the UK they have to ( at least that's what I hear ) I think we as consumers should have a right to know what we are eating.

In most cases, yeah they probably should. I remember reading about some Spanish scientists, I think, that added a particular fish gene to some tomato's, which made them incredibly frost resistant. Still perfectly safe to eat, and they don't taste of fish, but I think people with intense fish allergies might react to them, so naturally in those cases, full disclosure should be required.

I think it's only right that we as consumers have a right to know what we are eating.
An Arctic Char gene is regularly added to most tomatoes here in Canada to withstand our cold climate and frosts. I wouldn't imagine that would be harmful but really nobody knows.

think it's only right that we as consumers have a right to know what we are eating. If nothing else, you can look products you're unsure of up online. Surely the company if no one else has the details on their corporate site. I wouldn't imagine that would be harmful but really nobody knows. Between the mandatory testing done beforehand, and the number of people who eat GMO products daily, I think It's safe to say: It's safe.

It's likely they are safe, however companies should still have to disclose whether their products are made with GMO's or not.
