Do you play board games? If so which ones and how often?
My family does, especially now that we have my nephews. I mean even before them we played them growing up – my sister and I. However, once we hit high school we stopped. Growing up some of our favorite games were (Brace yourselves for the 90s!):
Pretty Pretty Princess – because what little girl doesn’t love dress up! <3 My sister and I played this a zillion times when we were between 6 and 9.
Party Mania – it was a game that had a VHS tape you had to watch to play. It was about doing your chores around the house and getting them all done by the time your big party began. If you didn’t complete all your stuff on time you had to stay home with the science brothers. xD We haven’t played it in ages but it’s mostly because we’re afraid the VHS player is going to eat the tape! T^T
Dream Phone – This one had a giant pink phone. Another really girly game. You had to use the phone to call numbers on the game cards to find clues about which 90’s stud was crushing on you. Once you gathered enough clues you made a guess. If you were right you won the game. The last time I played this was my senior year of college and I made my guy roommate play it with me. xD He hated every second of it.
Mall Madness – Still one of my main favorites. I normally only play it now when I’m super broke and can’t spend real money. I go faux shopping. >D
Forbidden Bridge – an adventure game of sorts. I don’t remember much of this once since we lost all the pieces to it. You had to cross this crazy bridge that moved around and tried to throw you off. I think you collected rubies too and there were boats. O_o The game board reminds of that Nickelodeon game show Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Titanic Board game - Yes they have a game. If I didn’t lose all the pieces I would make everyone play it all the time. I loved it.
Monopoly – this game is mine. I lost for the first time ever on New Years Day this year. I’m still bitter over it. -__- I have three different editions – Original, Disney/Pixar, and the dot com edition (it’s sooo dated!!! </3)
Nowadays my nephews make me play Cooties, Don’t Break the Ice, Trouble, TMNT Krang Fishing, and a bunch of other horrible ones. Also when playing Operation with them if you don’t make it buzz you aren’t play the game right and they get really mad about it. :/
I play the games pretty much every time my nephews come over. Also on Christmas and New Years we play adult board games like monopoly.
