I'm struggling with this decision.
I really want one just for the nostalgia and the awesome library of games, but then I remember that my Wii can play GC games.
I guess it's more fun on the actual console?
Just like PS1 games on the PS2 weren't as fun because you weren't on your old PS1 that sat at the loading screen for ages and ages.
Help.

I would maybe want a gamecube someday just so I can play the original 2001 Animal Crossing. I've played every game in the series except that one.

If your Wii can play the GC games, I wouldn't bother. Nostalgia's nice, but It's money you don't need to spend. My brother's still got our old original Xbox, and I've thought about firing it up, but my 360 can still play most of the games without any hassle.

I consider backwards compatibility an important thing with any game system.
