observer.com/2016/08/not-a-drill-seti-is-investigating-a-possible-extraterrestrial-signal-from-deep-space/"An international team of scientists from the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is investigating mysterious signal spikes emitting from a 6.3-billion-year-old star in the constellation Hercules—95 light years away from Earth. The implications are extraordinary and point to the possibility of a civilization far more advanced than our own."
Fascinating stuff, It'll be very interesting to see if they discover anything.

I thought this was already old news that the signal actually came from earth? I heard this a few days ago that they determined it was actually from earth, unless this is a different one.

You could be right, but I Googled it a bit, and It doesn't seem conclusive yet. So there might still be hope. That and the Tabby's Star mystery would leave us with 2 whole potential alien life candidates. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KIC_8462852

Yeah the odds are pretty low. Like Matt said, even if the signal isn't confirmed to have originated from Earth yet, it probably isn't Aliens. Statistically speaking. Even if it was, the distance to that solar system means any signals we could receive, or send has like a 190 year return time.
But Tabby's Star remains a solid candidate, I don't know If I've mentioned it before, but some scientists actually Kickstarted funding to ensure 1 full year of constant overwatch on that system.
