I have never eaten venison and never will. I don't eat any animal product nor do I wear it. Vegetarian for 20 years. Love animals, not so keen on people. I think Aang the Last Airbender would probably be proud of you for making those choices.

I can see both points of the argument, but leaning more towards Vincent's reasoning and all updates are indeed free. Windows 10 was free initially and those that didn't download it within that free time frame... well tough luck. [b Yes that is true. People should have upgraded while given the chance.

Yes that is true. People should have upgraded while given the chance. Well, I have upgraded when I was given the chance with the free Windows 10 upgrade that expired back on July 29th, but ended up with some computer issues afterward that I'm still trying to get fixed.

I'm still having some issues, I lost my Microsoft office programs and have been told there's no way to get them back without buying them again, which is ridiculous.

I'm still having some issues, I lost my Microsoft office programs and have been told there's no way to get them back without buying them again, which is ridiculous. That sounds confusing/misleading. Assuming you talked to a Microsoft representative who told you, verbatim, that you in order to get your "lost" Office programs back, you would need to purchase them again, I think whoever you talked to is very, very wrong. When you buy Office, you buy a private license for it, and I'm quite sure even some older Office package licenses are still valid. What I think would be going on, is that your older Office programs aren't compatible with Windows 10, meaning you'd need to purchase Office 2016, which was designed with Windows 10 in mind. Maybe you just misunderstood the part about which version you needed to get? Also, I tried researching this a bit, and found 1 source claiming that for Office 2014, Microsoft devoted about $930 Million to R&D, per year. Keep that in mind when arguing for free software.

I think it was Chessica(?) who mentioned Open Office earlier, which works almost as well as Microsoft Word. Which I do believe you can use free in your browser, at least with Edge in Outlook.

If you need to find similar software that will likely do the same as Microsoft Office that includes Open Office in the list, just check out this link: www.digitaltrends.com/computing/best-microsoft-office-alternatives/
