I personally do not think people should be allowed to own guns. The US allows people to own guns and look at all the mass shootings and tragedies that happen there. Like last night's mass shooting in Orlando link

No, people probably shouldn't have guns for a wide variety of reasons. But for the US It's a moot debate right now. Americans have, and will want to own guns for the forseeable future, and if being the leader in tragic statistics won't change their mind about it, I don't imagine anything short of the President and Congress stepping in will change it.

The US will always believe it's their right to have a gun, no matter how many tragedies happen they will never change it.

I don't believe in guns. Many years ago after a tragic gun shooting in Tasmania the Prime Minister of the time banned people from having guns, except people who were in gun clubs.
It hasn't stopped shootings but I do feel it has controlled it.

Yep, I'll be a weird American in this thread. I own 2 guns, a 9mm and 22 rifle, small firepower, but I won't give them up. The first thing tyrants throughout history did to their people was disarm them, that's why we are armed. Also, to make sure the government is afraid of us, which hasn't been working well for the past several years.
The government here sure is trying to take them away from us, but if they did, I'm pretty sure it would lead to another civil war. We are already falling apart, it wouldn't take much to start one.

Now I don't live in the US but I honestly doubt there would be another civil war.

I hope not, but people here a so mad at each other and the government, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened. I would say Trump's views are the source of half the problems. I don't think Its Trump himself, more what he represents. The fact that the Republican party would consider him as a candidate alone signifies more severe and deeper issues. The US has a lot of problems, and in my opinion, the two party system pretty much ensures that each election you can only vote for the people who broke it, or the people who don't know how to fix it. I also think that it sadly imbues many Americans with an "Us Vs. Them" mentality, only really looking what the Democrats, or the Republicans offer. Maybe not on such a huge scale, and at least not open warfare, but these days people are getting assaulted just for saying "I like Trump", or having a "Hilary" bumper sticker. For a country founded on noble principles, that just sounds depressing. In your case, that' fair enough. It's not like you're stockpiling an arsenal. But how do you feel about possible gun reforms? Would you be alright with some drastic changes? As an example and metaphor, would you consider giving up 1 of your guns, instead of both? Or are you pleased with the current gun laws and regulations?
