There's been many stories of people ending up with cell bills ranging into the tens of thousands of dollars due to roaming charges. Do you think it is acceptable for cell providers to charge absurd roaming rates? I think there should be cap at around $200 where the charges can't go any higher.

Yes it is a complete rip off. It probably barely costs the providers anything to provide us with the services yet they charge us so much.

Charges are coming down though, but really not enough.

In Canada they are trying to pass a law that limits the amount of roaming fees that can be charged.

Well I agree they are a rip off.
When overseas I use an app called "What's App". I can send texts pictures and ring them for nothing when any where in the world. The other person has to have the same App and the person sending the message has to be on the internet but that is ok.

Yes if you use the hotels wifi you can do that for free.
