Awesome, how'd you like the new one? I enjoyed it, but at the same time, it felt like a repeat of Episode 4. Shame we have to wait another year and a half before the next one comes out. Totally agree. At least we have the spin off in between, though I fear Disney is going to flood and oversaturate the Star Wars market with far too many films in the coming years.

I also find that most of the stuff that Disney touches, it can ruin. I hope that isn't the same with Star Wars, but I still got a bad feeling about it.

Absolutely. Since the LucasFilm purchase, their decisions seem to be hit or miss. They're doing great things with the Marvel stuff though, and Force Awakens certainly isn't a bad film by any measure. It's just extremely derivative. I mean the new lightsaber was like the most innovative thing they did. But then they decided to completely shut down LucasArts and all their productions, and for some reason, Rogue One just does not excite me. The trailer just did so very little for me, but I can't quite put my finger on why.

Rouge One doesn't interest me either. I was hoping they would follow the books when they were doing the new movies. When it was said that the books aren't cannon anymore, I lost interest completely in the new movies, since I read them all. It took me a while to get back into it.

While I understand how so many people were so disappointed that not only were they not adapting any EU stories, all those stories were now non-canon as well, I personally was overjoyed they didn't just adapt an old story.
The few I've read, or heard about, mostly all just followed the exact same formula as Episode IV. Always it was some new super weapon and more Sith.

I wasn't opposed to making some changes, but the Grand Admiral Thrawn trilogy would have been great movies. The Yuuzhan Vong & Darth Caedus stories would have made good movies to.

I'm actually hoping, one of few hopes I have for Rogue One, that we'll see a bit of Thrawn in what seems to be the main villain: screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Star-Wars-Rogue-One-Trailer-Ben-Mendelsohn-Thrawn.jpgThe Vong stories, for me, were just a bit too extreme. George wasn't really involved in most EU stories, and so to me, It seemed as though they often drifted very far from what George originally created. Personally, I'm fundamentally against any EU stories with more Sith. To me, including the Sith in some new form, just goes against everything the first 6 films were about. So at least in that regard, I'm very pleased with Kylo Ren, and Snoke (even though that's the dumbest name for a villain I've ever heard).

I'm more interested in Snoke than the rest, as he is the most mysterious. I'll be curious how they write him on his origin and how he got so badly damaged.

On that we agree. Hate the name, but the character has a lot of potential. Not sure why they did him all CGI though, It feels like they could have used practical effects to great effect there, I think his appearance would have been a lot more harrowing if it was prosthetics and make up. Like they did with Anakin in Episode III.
