Personally I like both the GameCube and the PS consoles (ALL). Though I pretty much favor my PS3 these days, since my PS4 only has two games and isn't backwards compatible. :/ That's pretty bad of them to not make the PS4 backwards compatible, that is what I love about Nintendo, it's all backwards compatible. Yeah it's one of the things I really dislike about the PS4. I mean I have a ton of PS 1, 2,and 3 games but it can't play any of them. That being said it takes up a lot of space in my room. Mostly because I bounce around a lot when gaming. My PS3 isn't backwards compatible with PS2 titles so I have that system out, my ps3, and my ps4 at all times. Though I normally will alternate one other depending on what I want to play. I tend to hoard my systems so I have everything back to the NES (minus dreamcast and xboxes)

I like that too. I have quite a few DS games and my 3DS collection is growing. The only thing I wish they had included on the 3DS was the GBA area that I had on my DS Lite. It was nice being able to move on from the GBA - I had one that didn't have the back-lit screen so playing it was really annoying not to mention you had to use actual batteries. ^^''

I'm conflicted between PS2 and N64. Both were very good systems in my opinion. (I remember when I got my PS2 I was all about the .hack games. <3)

As a brand I've always preferred Xbox for a variety of reasons, games only being one part of it.
It's only natural really. To keep pushing the graphical and performance limits of consoles hardware, naturally they need to use the most modern components, and as time progresses, this hardware departs from whatever came before it. Essentially; The PS4 and Xbox One are built too different to allow older games to run on them. Kind of like you need Emulators to play arcade games and the like on PC.
But both the PS4 and Xbox One have also launched services where you can stream older games through the new console. Personally I don't care much about backwards compatibility, that's never been a deal breaker for me. I don't invest in a new console, to play old games.
