It's an old game, so people don't talk about it everywhere. But It still has at least a few hundred thousand players each month. Maybe even 1 million regular players still.

I go to the official forums daily, and they are large and still very much active. Like so many other things, it's probably more talked about on Reddit.

To me it's a lot like the older usergroups before message boards came about, type r/*Insert what you want to find about* on google and your bound to find something. The only difference between the old usergroups and this is you have the tabs at the top with whats: "Hot/new/rising (Topics)/controversial" etc. If you click on the thumbnail if it has one (Be it picture or video), it'll just take you to that source, you have to click the "39 comments" link underneath (Or however many comments there are!) to see what people are talking about on that subject.
It can be useful, but after Facebook, and social media it was the final nail in the coffin for boards like ProBoards IMO.

I don't think forums are done. I think it's harder for forums now because of social media and stuff but I don't think it's impossible for forums. Our little community here is doing fine

Yes but general forums mostly do well, but you're right - social media has had it's impact on message boards.
