So I just bought this game so I can't say too much about it, however I do believe it maybe my favorite AC game. It's really different from the normal games and I like it. Instead of being Mayor you're one of Nook's employees. As your job you take on clients and arrange their houses inside and out. As you progress you get bigger jobs like remodeling the school and setting it all up. I'm assuming the same can be said about the other abandoned shops.
Anyone on here planning on giving it a try? Or perhaps already started it like me? ^__^

I have always been a pretty big fan of the AC series. though I haven't played animal crossing regularly for probably a year now. I was really thinking of getting back into it again. Can you tell me a bit more about this game.

As I mentioned before you open the game working for Nook’s Homes. You are the new employee there. You are a home designer and in the game it is your job to communicate with the villagers and find clients that want you to change their style. Each villager has their own unique taste so some can be more challenging than others. When designing all the items will be available to your disposal – there’s no need to worry about money so decorate to your heart’s content. When decorating the outside or inside of the home be sure to keep an eye on the client. If they really like some you’ll see hearts above their heads. If you add something bold or surprise they get little shock lines. Depending on how closely you pay attention to their needs and work in the items they brought from their last house you can either do well or bad. (I have yet to get a bad reaction to anything) After helping certain clients you unlock emotions which you can then use when talking to the animals. ^_^ Also new opportunities will open up for you to help rebuild and design the town. The first one is designing the outside and inside of the school. As you do more ‘jobs’ more items will unlock for you to use. You can also gain access to the Happy Home Design Handbook which requires 3DS ‘Play Coins’ to read new lessons. Lessons seem to unlock more items – the first one is free and it’s ceiling décor. There is also the Amibo phone, but I know nothing on it since I don’t own anything like that. ^^’’ Unlike other games this one does not move along with real-time. You close each day by writing you’re daily report (saving) – afterwards you move to the next day. Also during the day you can’t go explore like in the older games the area is limited. When you’re not designing a house for someone you can chat with people in the square or visit past clients to build up friendships (again you just select which client you want to visit on the bottom screen and get transported there instantly) In short it’s mostly a decorating game. There might be more to it, but for now that’s what I got from it. I’m about 4 or 5 hours into playing it. Screenshots From My Game: (Lopez, Pecan, Muffy, and Carrie - I decorated all their rooms and yards)

Thanks for telling us about Happy Home Designer Deuce, I know more about it than I did before. This sounds like a game I would've liked a couple years ago but I don't know if I would like it now. I think there's a better chance of me getting New Leaf. There's a small chance I will get it but I don't think so. I voted "Nah". But thanks again for telling us about the game!

I think if you're more of a fan of traditional Animal Crossing then Happy Home might not be the best way to go. The game is all about decorating and doesn't really show any signs like fishing, digging for fossils or any of the extra stuff the games have offered in the past. Then again I'm only 7 hours into it so those types of things may unlock. The jobs normally come one per day. After it's finished you can either call it a day and save or go out and chat around the town with the folks or previous clients. I do know I did just unlock the 'custom' option where I can design my own patterns to use in the decor via the Happy Home Handbook.
If you're looking for a game that has a bit more to do then I would suggest New Leaf. It's pretty standard animal crossing.

I have never played an Animal Crossing game before and was kind of adverse towards it for awhile but lately I've been thinking about trying it. Maybe I should try New Leaf first and see if I like that and then play Happy Home Designer. I'm not sure.

Animal Crossing New Leaf is very similar to the older ones in every way. It uses real-time to progress onwards. So whenever you play it, the game clock will match you'r real-world one. If you do end up getting it though please let me know. I'd love to visit your town.
